Staid makes it easy to extract text from images and PDFs using its powerful text recognition features. This guide will walk you through the process of capturing text from various sources, so you can start simplifying, summarizing, and organizing your content right away.
Staid supports the following file formats for text recognition:
Launch the Staid app. The camera will be open and ready for you to snap a picture of a textbook, notebook, or any other text source.
Point your device's camera at the text you want to capture, ensuring it is clear and properly focused. Tap the shutter button to take a picture.
Staid will automatically process the captured text and present you with various options for further processing.
From the main camera view, tap the Photo Gallery icon in the bottom right corner.
You'll have two options: "Upload Image from Gallery" or "Upload a PDF File." Choose the appropriate option based on the source material you'd like to process.
Browse your device's files, and select the image or PDF you'd like to import into Staid.
Once you've captured text from an image or uploaded a file, Staid will present you with four options:
Study Notes: View the generated notes based on the captured text.
Synthesis: Access the summarized version of the captured text.
Explain Like I'm Five: View the text translated into simpler concepts for easy understanding.
Questions & Answers: Generate questions and answers based on the uploaded text.
In the top right corner, tap the Docs icon to view your previous documents.
You can rename or delete documents by tapping the corresponding option.
Ensure that the text is clear and well-lit when capturing images. Poor lighting or blurry text can lead to inaccurate text recognition.
Make sure the text is in a language supported by Staid. Unsupported languages may result in incorrect text recognition or processing errors.
For PDF files, ensure that the file is not password-protected or encrypted, as Staid cannot process these types of files.
If you're experiencing issues with textrecognition, try retaking the image or re-uploading the PDF, ensuring that thetext is clear and legible. If the problem persists, contact Staid's technicalsupport for further assistance.
